The 1/10 scale '96 Cadillac Fleetwood Big Body

I'm obsessed with the '96 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham for many years now and that's the reason why I wanted to create a large scale model of it. 5 years ago I started to build one but I did not prepare myself enough to pull it of. 

 

 A year ago I gave it another shot collecting hundreds of pictures from the internet and with help of my homie Mario Montano from Imperials C.C. in Phoenix who did all the measuring using his own Cadillac Fleetwood.

Besides the fact that Dustin Volo is a really cool guy he also creates stunning work as a photographer of lowrider cars, the culture and lifestyle. His work is featured in many lowrider magazines and now it's time for his own documentary. Watching the trailer I can't wait to see the first part because it looks really good and very well made by the people of DRG films.

Creating the 1/12 Jevries wire wheels

 I own a nice collection of 1/12 RC cars that I'm going to transform into masterpiece model lowriders. 
The thing that sets a lowrider apart from many other custom cars, besides the hydraulics, are the ofcourse the wire wheels like Dayton and Zenith.
Since there are no aftermarket 1/12 scale wire wheels I decided to create my own set of rims and wires. In the early days I used a PVC pipe fitting as rim, cut the wires from a 1/10 Pegasus wire wheel and used sticky vinyl to give em a chrome or g...
